A MEDIEVAL KNIGHT IN MY LIVING ROOM

It was snowing hard during that January afternoon, and I just finished brewing some delicious hazelnut coffee. I grabbed my black coffee mug and sat on my favorite cobalt blue chair in my living room to read a book.
I was really entertained on the story I was reading about King Richard III. Suddenly, I was interrupted by a burst of flash in front of the fireplace. There I was, staring at this medieval knight who was as tall as my front door. He was holding his helmet and his reddish hair was messy. His face was thin with a long chin, and his green eyes were small and a bit slanted.
Although he had his knight's armor, I could see that his body wasn't strong enough to be a knight, since I could see his skinny legs through his tight iron pants.
For a few seconds he didn't seem to notice where he was. Then, finally, he opened his eyes wide and was bewildered for seeing himself on my living room. Since he had no idea how he got there, he started talking loud in a rough, deep voice, uttering words in old English, and reaching for his sword at the same time, which was hanging by his left side; he was a left hand user. He lifted his sword to take some action all agitated, and just then, I woke up.
What a relief! It was just a nightmare! I might have fell asleep reading my book.

THE SCREAMING STRANGER

Doctor Stanley's favorite coffee shop was very crowded that afternoon, but he didn't mind waiting on the line, since he surely wanted to enjoy his mocha with croissant. But, for some reason, the line wasn't moving at all. When Doctor Stanley, a very busy psychotherapist, realized something was wrong, he heard a woman talking loud behind him. She was overweight and had an angry expression while screaming behind his back.
"Why is it taking so long? I have an appointment, can't be here all day! And you, mister, why don't you start moving ahead?" she poked Doctor Stanley's back. "Look how much space ahead of you! Go, go! Let's not waste time here! Just a bunch of snails!"
Doctor Stanley turned around and looked at the woman while fixing his glasses above his nose. With a firm look at her, he said: "Listen, Mrs. if you think you are the only busy person here, you are completely wrong. I also have a very important compromise, which is to treat people just like you. People that think they are the center of the universe, that everyone must do what they want them to do. In summary, I have a patient waiting to see me, and her nervous condition is what I need to take care of."
The woman was listening to him with big eyes; she didn't expect that sermon. He continued: "So, don't think you are the only one nervous on this line. Here is my card; you may be in need, in case you realize."
He gave her his business card, and the woman had a big surprise.
"Oh...so you are Doctor Stanley? I'm afraid I am the patient you'll have to see this afternoon." she smiled ashamed.
"Aha! Isn't that funny?" he told her sarcastically.

SOUNDS OF THE WIND

"Sitting on the top of majestic red mountains,
His untamed long hair was blowing by the strong wind;
His eyes were contemplating with sadness the infinite blue of the sky,
And the wind was granting him sounds from a very distant past,
Voices and chants from his people seemed still real at that sacred place.
He could see countless of his people celebrating with happiness their ceremonies around the fire,
Meanwhile the Shaman was telling to each one words of deep knowledge that he learnt from his connection with the Great Spirit.
His words were meaningful to each one for their lives within the Clan.
Many of them would still come to understand his words just in their future.
The moon was crossing the sky sending its silver rays over a happy people.
Yes, happy they were, because they lived in perfect harmony with the powers of the Nature."

The red mountains of the Southwest are a sacred place for many Native American tribes of the area. Not only the stunning rocks of the Grand Canyon, where the old civilization of the Anasazi Indians once inhabited, and mysteriously disappeared, but also the vastness of the area which includes Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado. The lands are now inhabited by many Native American tribes, such as Navajo, Hopi, Apache and Pueblo people.
The Pueblo are comprised of twenty one small tribes, and they are believed to be the Anasazi descendants.
The area of the Grand Canyon is also home to two tribes, the Hualapai and Havasupai tribes.
The Anasazi tribe left many cliff dwellings spread across the four states; one of them being Mesa Verde in Colorado, which is depicted below.

The poem above relates to reminisces about this vanished civilization called the Anasazi, which means, the ancient ones, and it's part of my book, "Love, Life, Forever...Tasunke Witko lives, spiritual poems" available on kindle and paperback through Amazon.

THE PORCELAIN DOLL

Daphne browsed the store until she got to what she liked most: dolls. She had a small collection of them. She picked up a few dolls to look up closer, and as she was holding one of them, another one that was  standing close suddenly fell for no apparent reason. It called her attention, and she grabbed the doll to fix it back into place, but as she looked at the doll it seemed special to her; the doll's little blue eyes were so pretty and vivid that Daphne decided: that was the one she was going to buy.
When she got back home, she found a spot for the doll on the shelf in her bedroom with the other dolls she had. This doll was a little bigger than the others; it had a porcelain face, hands and legs; it had curly blonde hair, a pledged sky-blue dress, a little white purse on her arm, and a white hat with little yellow flowers. It was perfect and Daphne was happy for her new acquisition.

THE SUNFLOWER FIELDS

Fresh morning; light breeze in the air; open prairie.
Extensive beautiful sunflower fields; yellow, his favorite color.
The sun shining mildly on his skin, young Indian boy.
She was there among the sunflowers; she was playing with the yellow petals of the big flower; pretty Indian girl.
He watched her from the distance, appreciating the young girl's beauty.
He decided to go; he so much wished to meet her.
There he went, his light steps in moccasins rustling through the field.
He caught her attention - she quit playing with the flower and stared at him.
Close to each other, he gave her a smile; she was shy.
Then he gave her a little white flower he picked up in the field.
She smiled at him, and that was the beginning of their friendship.
Every day after the sunrise there they used to see each other.
Young years; old times; beautiful memories.
